What is with sequel ?? People generally do not rate sequels as high as the first parts…mainly due to the fact that the first one had raised the bar so high that people cannot possible absorb anything below that which is absolutely acceptable…isn’t it??? So..Shrek 3 is funny but its the same old stuff repeated again in a different situation ofcourse… Die Hard 4.0 the latest release with the “4.0” to go with the recent Web 2.0 revolution …and the same goes for Rocky Balboa…
In this summer of sequels…Apple has launched its much talked about hyped iPhone (Phone + iPod) and now we have to wait and see if Apple has managed to revolutionise the phone market as it did with music players few years back….and has it been able to raise the bar it set with iPod or are people disappointed ???
If you cannot deliver the desired results you are just not good enough. One is judged not by his efforts but by the results he/she can produce which to me is a very bad situation to be in. I have been there several times because if you are making an effort why cannot you produce results??? If a striker cannot score he has lost the touch…he is written off…similarly for developers if you cannot produce desired results you are rubbish…
Now, the reason we have such a bizzare way to measure one’s abilities is because good results rewards one with financial benefits, recognition in their work and excellent progress opportunities. On the other hand if you are putting 1000% precent of your effort and cannot produce a result you just better find a new career….
At the end of the day it comes down to…if you are not successful you are rubbish there is no middle layer you are either this side or that you cant possibly be both and results get you a seat on the successful side…
I am sure you all know about Maximuscle…you must have seen the pictures of toned up guys drinking shakes and flaunting their abdominal muscles and in small print it says the name of the guy and their profession and for some reason a lot of them are “software engineers”..seems to me a perfect way to advertise a protein product…
On the other hand and this is quite funny…I saw this guy on the train and the sign on the back of his t-shirt read “Maximuscle” but in real the guy was quite fat with no muscle whatsoeva….now if Maximuscle poses as a protein product it would be helpful to actually ensure the guys who wear it can actually carry the message…looks like bad advertising to me…
Why are people so uncomfortable to do things differently? I think the only way you can be remarkable is try novel notions. I know it is a big risk but how else are you suppose to find out what works and what does not.
I was speaking to someone last week and they said, yeah they are doing it, so we should do it as well, and I was like No! We should think of another way of doing this. May be we can do it better and more effective, but no one listens to me.
I guess people are just too scared to start a new trend since it is a big risk. But the bigger the risk the better is your prospect of making big…isn’t it?
